§ 62-20. Administration by street superintendent.

  • The street superintendent shall be responsible for the administration and enforcement of this article, subject to the review of the mayor and council. In the exercise of his solid waste management duties, said superintendent shall:

    (1)

    Supervise the collection of solid waste, including the operation and maintenance of equipment and the supervision of personnel;

    (2)

    Establish collection schedules in accordance with the provisions of this article;

    (3)

    Supervise the operation and maintenance of the sanitary landfill and/or other disposal sites or facilities; and

    (4)

    Inspect and regulate the operations of private collectors and private transportation and disposal systems to ensure that such operations are in compliance with the provisions of this article.
