§ 82-461. Same—By noncontributing consumers.

  • (a)

    When a property owner desires connection to the sewerage system within 25 years after construction of the sanitary sewer line, and he or a previous owner has not contributed to the cost of constructing the sanitary sewer line, he must pay to the water and wastewater department a proportionate cost of construction based on the footage his property abuts the sanitary sewer. After payment, the owner may construct a service line, pay a plumbing fee and a sewer tap fee, and, after the line has been inspected and approved, connect to the system.

    (b)

    If the connection is desired more than 25 years after completion of the sanitary sewer main, then there is no assessment for construction costs, and only the appropriate plumbing and sewer tap fees are paid.
