§ 82-295. Rates levied.

  • (a)

    A service charge shall be levied and assessed for the operation and maintenance of the sewerage system based on the amount of potable water consumed per month by each contributor to the sewerage system. The rate at which this charge is levied shall be as approved and adopted from time to time by resolution of the city council.

    (b)

    A readiness-to-serve charge is imposed for the operation of the sewerage system based on the size of the customer's water meter. A surcharge for over-strength waste (i.e., wastes consisting of suspended solids or biochemical oxygen demand materials in concentrations exceeding 200 mg/l, and COD materials in concentrations exceeding 500 mg/l) is levied at a rate approved and adopted from time to time by resolution of the city council.
