§ 50-7. Permits for nonprofit civic group activities.

  • (a)

    To prevent scheduling conflicts in the use of the city's park facilities, any nonprofit civic group that desires to use the city's park facilities for a particular purpose such as picnics, parties, or theatrical or other entertainment performances, shall first obtain a permit for such purpose. Applications for permit shall be made to the mayor, on such form as he prescribes. Permits pursuant to this section shall be issued at no charge.

    (b)

    The permit for group activities may, at the mayor's discretion, contain a requirement for an indemnity bond to protect the city from any liability of any kind or character and to protect city property from damage, and such other use restrictions as the mayor deems necessary for the general health and welfare of the public.
